Search warrant reveals large amounts of meth, marijuana in MS home

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — An Alcorn County man is facing multiple drug and weapon charges after a search warrant revealed a large amount of illegal drugs in his home.

On Tuesday, April 16, the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Office, and agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations conducted a search warrant at the home of 40-year-old Kenneth Wayne Scales Jr.

Reports say officers discovered approximately one pound of methamphetamine, six grams of cocaine, two grams of heroin, and 185 grams of marijuana. Officers also found a pill press used to make counterfeit pills and two firearms.

Other possible stolen items were reportedly discovered in the home as well.

The sheriff’s office says Scales is being charged with numerous drug and weapon charges as a result of the search.

The investigation is ongoing. Other arrests and charges are pending, officials say.
