Search underway for ‘armed and dangerous’ man accused of shooting at Hardee County deputies

HARDEE COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A search is underway for a man accused of shooting at Hardee County deputies.

The Hardee County Sheriff’s Office said Morgan Garcia shot at deputies on Tuesday and fled on foot. He was last seen in the area of Oak Lane, south of Zolfo Springs wearing a grey shirt.

The sheriff’s office said Garcia should be considered “armed and dangerous” and residents should not approach him.

“If you notice a suspicious person in the area or have information regarding the whereabouts of Morgan Garcia please contact us immediately at 863-773-4144,” the sheriff’s office posted on Facebook.
