Is the Search For Kelly Ripa's Co-Host Already Over?

From Redbook

Rob Lowe is in talks to take Michael Strahan's spot on Live, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Lowe was in the running back when Regis Philbin left as well, the outlet reports.

"My kids are out of the house, they weren't then," Lowe told the outlet. "Who knows... But listen, man, I don't want to go up against Anderson Cooper. I don't know if I'm going to go back as an actual guest host yet...You never know! You never know."

Cooper has long been rumored to be the one taking a seat next to his BFF Ripa. But he recently said he hadn't recieved the call, telling Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live: "Look, I'm very happy at CNN. It would be a dream to work with Kelly, but nobody's offering anything, so…"

Lowe may have been playing coy but, according to the report, his reps have been in talks with ABC.

And the actor certainly has the time: His Fox show The Grinder was canceled earlier this month after one season.

Last time it took a year to settle on Strahan. He just left the show this month after weeks of drama surrounding his move to Good Morning America.

Let's just hope Ripa finds someone who'll stick around for awhile.
