Inmate who walked off work-release in Cumberland County turns herself in

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A search for a Cumberland County inmate came to an end after she turned herself in Thursday, officials said.

Timberly Smith, 27, turned herself into the Perry County Probation Department in New Bloomfield and was returned to Cumberland County Prison at 3:30 p.m., a county spokesperson said.

According to Cumberland County Warden Travis Shenk, Smith will face more charges that will be determined at a later date.

A county spokesperson said Smith was last seen leaving the prison at 7:50 a.m. to get a new state ID on Saturday, March 9, and that she did not return. She was granted a two-hour window to get the ID at the PennDOT center in Carlise, located at 950 Walnut Bottom Road.

Smith is described as 5’2”, weighs about 125 pounds, and has brown eyes with brown hair. She reportedly has family in Duncannon and Landisburg, Perry County.

Smith was incarcerated in prison on a Perry County Parole Violation since March 1.
