Search continues for Caleb Harris, missing since Monday

The Corpus Christi Police Department, along with multiple search and rescue crews and volunteers from the community and state, are searching for a 21-year-old man from New Braunfels who has been missing since Monday.

Caleb Harris was last seen near his residence, The Cottages at Corpus Christi, during the overnight hours of March 4, 2024, according to a news release on the CCPD Blotter. Family members reported him missing when his roommates were unable to locate him later that morning.

At 7 a.m. Wednesday, police officers, college students from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, and friends and family gathered along a sidewalk in the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin Road near the apartment complex to search for clues. CCPD police cadets looked for clothing items including shoes, a tie, and belt in the adjacent field, while police drones scoured the area.

Members of the CCPD Dive Team descended into the water of Oso Bay to investigate the areas that couldn’t be accessed on foot. The U.S. Coast Guard was also helping with the search.

“He had his phone with him—his keys, vehicle and wallet were all left in the apartment,” said CCPD Officer Antonio Contreras, adding that there was no indication of foul play at the site.

Family members posted flyers encouraging people to call to report information they have about Harris' disappearance.
