Seahawks RB Chris Carson could return in December
The Seattle have struggled to get their run game going since rookie Chris Carson suffered a severe ankle injury in their Week 4 victory over the Colts. But head coach Pete Carroll said that there is a chance that Carson could return to the playing field in December.

Carson had surgery in October to repair a serious high-ankle sprain, but he also suffered a fracture in his leg. It was expected at the time that Carson would miss the rest of the season after being placed on injured reserve on October 2nd. But the news that he could possibly return came as a shock to many.
Carson has been the best rusher for the Seahawks, other than quarterback Russell Wilson. Carson has rushed for 208 yards on 49 carries. He is currently the second leading rusher for the Seahawks behind Wilson, as Eddie Lacy and Thomas Rawls have both struggled in his absence. Rawls has rushed for 125 yards on 49 carries and Lacy has rushed for 128 yards on 48 carries.
Lacy and Rawls have combined for 2.6 yards per carry and 253 rushing yards, which is still not better than Wilson’s 51 carries for 290 yards. Carson has been the only Seattle running back that has been able to find room to run behind the Seattle offensive line. Before his injury, he was also one of the leaders in the NFL in broken tackles.
Although it is unclear when Carson could return in December, his addition will be much needed in Seattle’s quest to win the NFC West. The Seattle offense has been one dimensional this season, as the team has had to rely squarely on Wilson to make the plays to score points. In games that Wilson has struggled, there has been no one else that has been able to shoulder some of the load to make plays for him in the backfield.
Even if Carson returns in a limited basis, he could provide more help in the backfield than what the Seahawks have been throwing out there in his absence. The Seahawks must be sure to not rush him back, however, as he looks to be the future of the Seattle backfield and the best running back since Marshawn Lynch left the team.
