Seabrook state Rep. Tina Harley resigns, narrowing Republican majority in NH House

SEABROOK — State Rep. Tina Harley, R-Seabrook, has resigned from the New Hampshire House, according to the House clerk.

“Due to an unexpected family situation I am no longer able to reside in my district," wrote Harley in her resignation letter, which was read on the House floor Thursday. "It’s been an honor to serve my constituents in the great state of New Hampshire.”

Harley has represented Rockingham County District 30 since 2022. She had also served as a representative representing Seabrook and Hampton Falls from 2020 to 2022, before Gov. Chris Sununu signed a new state House map into law.

During the 2024 legislative session, she was present at a majority of House session days.

With a narrow margin between Republicans and Democrats in the House, every spot counts. Harley’s resignation brings the total number in the House to 396 members, with 200 Republicans, 194 Democrats, two Independents, and four vacancies.
