SDFD responds to apartment fire in Clairemont

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Crews with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded to reports of an apartment fire in Clairemont Thursday afternoon.

According to SDFD, the blaze started shortly before 12:40 p.m. in the 7700 block of Belden Street. Responding firefighters reported seeing smoke coming from a balcony on the second floor of an apartment building.

One person was evaluated for injuries and then transported by ambulance to a local hospital. There are no other reports of injuries.

SDFD said the fire has since been knocked down.

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
