Scunthorpe: Railway line reopened after landslip disruption

A railway line has reopened after it was blocked due to a landslip.

Network Rail engineers removed 300 tonnes of earth from the track at Frodingham, near Scunthorpe station, after trees fell on to the line on Wednesday.

Services between Cleethorpes and Doncaster have reopened after rail replacement buses were in place.

The cause is being investigated with prolonged heavy rain thought to be a factor.

Ballast bags were also installed in the area to help secure the land.

Network Rail said teams will continue to monitor the slope next to the line with a temporary speed restriction in place.

Private equity giant Thoma Bravo has announced that its security information and event management (SIEM) company LogRhythm will be merging with Exabeam, a rival cybersecurity company backed by the likes of Cisco and Lightspeed Venture Partners. SIEM is the business of using real-time data gleaned from servers, network devices, and applications to flag abnormal activity and thwart potential security threats before they escalate.
