Everything about Scott Frost’s return to Nebraska so far has been extremely heartwarming if not downright uplifting.

Frost grew up in Nebraska, won a national title as the Cornhuskers’ quarterback in 1997 and recently led a massive turnaround at Central Florida. The excitement around Lincoln as Frost makes his return is palpable and being channelled into the type of midwestern hospitality you normally see in movies.

The latest example came right before Frost’s introductory press conference on Sunday when he was greeted by a horde of former NU players cheering him on.

It looks just a tiny bit misty in that room.

The Huskers’ media team deserves a shoutout here as well. They’ve been making Frost’s return as special as they can with chill-inducing videos and photos.

It’s a shame we have to wait until the spring game before we get to see the fan reaction to Frost storming the sidelines for Nebraska again.

Something tells us it’s going to be worth it.
