New Zealand captain Kieran Read will win his 109th cap against Scotland and the number eight is relishing playing at one of his favourite grounds.

"I really love the ground, the people and the atmosphere. I love getting piped into the ground," Read, 32, said.

"[Scotland] play an attacking brand of footy. They got a win against the Aussies, so they're right up there."

Read made his debut for the All Blacks in a 32-6 World Cup win over Scotland.

"This is a great ground to play at and I have fond memories here," Read said.

New Zealand have named a formidable team for the Scotland Test, making just two changes to the 23 which beat France 38-18 in Paris last weekend.

Codie Taylor starts at hooker in place of the injured Dane Coles while Liam Squire and Nathan Harris come onto the bench.

New Zealand team: Damian McKenzie; Waisake Naholo, Ryan Crotty, Sonny Bill Williams, Rieko Ioane; Beauden Barrett, Aaron Smith; Kane Hames, Codie Taylor, Nepo Laulala, Luke Romano, Samuel Whitelock, Vaea Fifita, Sam Cane, Kieran Read (capt).

What are they saying?

Gregor Townsend on facing the All Blacks

"It's a challenge for all aspects," Townsend said of facing the All Blacks.

"Your rugby - your decision-making, accuracy in what you do. Your fitness. They will play at an intensity and a pace that not many teams play at. And also the psychological side.

"You've got to have your focus, your confidence in tough times during games, but right throughout that 80 minutes believing you can win, pushing your body to the limits to make sure you're in a position with 10 minutes to go that you can still win."

Scotland's Jim Hamilton on fronting up physically

"It's about fronting up at the breakdown, putting two or three players into the tackle and stopping the offload.

"It's all well and good having great passing technique, which Scotland have lacked in the past, but you need to go back to basics.

"Do we have a front five that is big enough and strong enough and hurting enough from the weekend?

"It's an unbelievable occasion taking on the All Blacks. I'm getting goose-bumps just thinking about it.

"You will see players going to the limit. The problem we've had before is sustaining that level of intensity."

"They've got some very dangerous players in their squad," noted Williams, 32, who will win his 45th cap at Murrayfield.

"Just the flavour of footy they're playing at the moment is great to see, it's great for world rugby. Coming up against that, it really puts us on edge and makes us aware that we have to be on our game to compete with these guys.

"We have to leave no stone unturned in our preparation and that's how we've gone about it. I'm really looking forward to having a game against these guys. The atmosphere is going to be awesome and it's exciting times."

What are the best odds?

Scotland win 9/1

New Zealand win 1/20

Draw 60/1

What's our prediction?

Scotland have not beaten the All Blacks since 1905 and Steve Hansen's men should have too much for the home side/
