Scooter rider injured in crash near Ball Arena after Nuggets game

DENVER (KDVR) — Sunday night after the Denver Nuggets game, police responded to the area near Ball Arena after a scooter rider was injured in a crash.

At around 9:30 p.m., the Denver Police Department tweeted that they were investigating a crash between a driver and a scooter rider in the area of 9th Street and Auraria Parkway. The intersection is just outside of Ball Arena, and at that time, traffic was heavy due to the Nuggets game letting out.

Police said the scooter rider was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. There has not been an update on their condition as of Monday morning.

Police said the driver remained on scene.

Westbound 9th Street was closed at Auraria for an extended period.

Denver police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has information to call the department’s non-emergency number at 720-913-2000.
