School nurses receive support

May 10—RIPLEY COUNTY — All elementary school nurses in Ripley County recently received cash donations from the Ripley County Retired Teachers Association.

The organization makes these donations twice a year as part of their mission to support all educational endeavors in the schools.

Treasurer Marsha Bultman traveled to each elementary school this spring to present the $50 checks to Bridgette Horan, South Ripley; Kara Harlemert, Jac-Cen-Del; and Helen Hixson, Milan. Director of Health Services at Batesville, Gayla Vonderheide, received the check for the Batesville Primary School.

The RCRTA also expressed their congratulations and well wishes to Ms. Vonderheide, who is retiring at the end of this school year.

Gene Pitts is the current president of the RCRTA, an affiliate of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

The group's next meeting will be Tuesday, July 23.
