Schiccatano, Klebon and Beck win county commissioner seats

Nov. 7—SUNBURY — Northumberland County Commissioner Sam Schiccatano will serve a third term and Commissioner Joe Klebon will serve a second term and political newcomer Meghan Beck finished third to earn a spot on the board.

Beck, a Democrat, will become the minority commissioners, serving alongside Schccitano and Klebon, both Republicans.

Beck will replace Kymberley Best, who opted not to seek another term.

Schiccatano, the commissioner chair, earned 10,385 votes and Klebon earned 10,071 in the unofficial tally late Tuesday night. Beck finished with 6,831 votes to narrowly edge Coal Township Commissioner Craig Fetterman's 6,661. Fetterman did win a seat on the Coal Township board.

"I am very grateful to the voters of the county," Schiccatano said. "I look forward to serving another term."

Klebon agreed.

"I am very grateful the voters put their faith in me," he said. "We are doing a lot of good things and we will now continue the work we started."

Beck said she also thanked voters.

"I look forward to working with the incumbent commissioners to make great things happen in our county," she said.

"I know we will make a great team that will help the county whether the significant challenges ahead of us over the next four years."
