Elmira, N.Y. (WETM) – A few rain showers return today with a weak cold front sweeping the Twin Tiers. When do we return to quiet conditions? Details below:

TODAY:

After starting the day quietly under brief high pressure, we’ll finish the morning with clouds building back in ahead of showers. A few scattered showers will move in this afternoon and evening. Temperatures are back in the low 60s and upper 50s this afternoon.

TONIGHT:

Scattered showers taper off throughout the evening as high pressure briefly returns tonight. Clouds gradually decrease overnight, and clearing skies will allow for lows in the low 40s tonight.

THIS WEEKEND:

A weak disturbance will allow for some isolated showers to return tomorrow afternoon, especially with the support of lake moisture in the afternoon. However, high pressure returns Saturday night allowing us to dry off heading into the start of the week. We’ll be partly cloudy on Sunday with even more sunshine in store for Monday.
