Scattered showers and lightning storms are forecast for much of Central Florida

Weather experts forecast Central Florida to be wet with lightning storms for Tuesday.

While there is a chance for storms, the possibility of a sustained stronger storm is limited, according to NWS Melbourne.

Afternoon temperatures will be near seasonal values, with highs in the mid-80s east of Interstate 95 and the upper 80s across the interior.

Areas near Lake Okeechobee could crack the 90-degree mark.

There is a moderate risk of rip currents at area beaches.
