Showers, storms expected Friday, through the weekend

Showers and a few storms will be in the area this weekend, but it will not be a washout. Severe Weather Team 11 continues to track a slow-moving system that will bring the threat for off and on showers Saturday and Sunday. There will be breaks in the rain from time to time, but any storm that develops could bring downpours, frequent lightning and gusty winds.

You can get lightning and heavy rain alerts with the Severe Weather Team 11 app, as well as any watches or warnings so have it with you as you head out.
