Scattered rain lingers today before a brief break tomorrow

Scattered showers and storms continue periodically through the day Thursday. These showers and storms will start to move east of the area by Thursday evening into Thursday night. The good news is that we’re not expecting severe weather today, but we could still see some heavy downpours and frequent lightning, especially this morning.

A cold front sweeps through today switching our winds to the north for a little while and cooling our temperatures a bit. Northwestern counties are starting off in the 50s, while those south and east are in the 70s. Later this afternoon, we should all rebound back into the lower 70s though. Overnight lows look to dip into the upper 40s.

By Friday, we finally get a break from the storm chances with a mostly sunny sky expected. High temperatures should make it into the middle 70s!

Another round of showers or storms is possible along a cold front late Friday night into early Saturday, then we clear back out. The rain should be out of here by the middle part of the morning, and mostly sunny skies are expected for the rest of the afternoon. Temperatures should make it into the lower to middle 70s.

We’ll also have another chance for showers and storms late Sunday and then again by Monday, too. Some of the storms may end up being strong or even severe Monday afternoon and evening.
