Scary moment as fisherman goes overboard on 'Deadliest Catch'

Season 14 of Deadliest Catch has been hard on the fishermen. But the scariest moment of the season so far was when Summer Bay greenhorn Spencer Moore was pulled overboard. A supermoon created record tides which led to extremely fast currents. In fact, the currents were so fast that much of the fleet shut down because they couldn't pull their pots up safely. Unfortunately for Moore, the Summer Bay waited a little too long to call it quits. While Moore was trying to attach a pot to the block, the current yanked him over the railing. Fortunately Spencer was able to hold onto the buoy and stay afloat in the 34 degree water. The quick thinking crew threw him a life ring, which he managed to and crane to pull the fisherman back aboard the vessel. After he collected his thoughts, Moore explained what happened "I was trying to get the bag in the block, and it's just ripping hard, and I held on, and it ripped me over way faster than I could let go." For Captain Wild Bill Wichrowski, this was the first time a member of his crew had gone over the rail. And while the incident left him visibly shaken, he couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. He told his crew "I love you guys even more than you'll ever know." Then fighting back tear he joked, "There's no crying in crab fishing." Deadliest Catch airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Discovery.
