SCAM ALERT: Osceola Council of Aging warns the public about online home scams

If you have ever come across an offer for weatherization, the Osceola Council on Aging asks the public to be vigilant against fraud.

The offers include roofing, window, and door repairs. The Osceola Council on Aging has received many complaints about fraudulent social media sites and websites.

Consumer complaints involved filling out an intake form on sites, which resulted in the theft of personal information. When clients attempt to contact the company, they are left without any response or support, according to the Osceola Council of Aging alert.

Osceola Council on Aging appears as the top search result. This leads to confusion among many clients who mistake us as the organization they filled out the form with, The Osceola Council warns.

The Osceola Council on Aging would like to assure all clients that they do not offer applications for weatherization services online and do not advertise on social media platforms. The only way to obtain their services is through referrals from local organizations.
