An SBS Transit bus crashed into a tennis court next to Yio Chu Kang MRT station on Friday (30 September), just a day after a bus went off-road into a field at Toa Payoh.

The bus at Yio Chu Kang appeared to have been driven through a fence into the court, according to a report by The Straits Times, which said that no one was hurt in the accident.

Tammy Tan, senior vice-president of corporate communications of ComfortDelgro group, which owns SBS Transit, said, “We are stunned that this has happened and will certainly be launching an investigation into it,” according to the report.

“We are, however, thankful that no one was on the tennis court and no passengers were on board at that time.”

When Yahoo Singapore was at the scene around 8pm, the bus was no longer at the tennis court.

On Thursday morning, an SMRT bendy bus got stuck on a field off Kim Keat Avenue after the driver tried to make a U-turn.

Patrick Nathan, SMRT vice-president for corporate information and communications, told Yahoo Singapore, “The bus captain was returning the vehicle to the bus depot early this morning when he took a wrong turn and attempted to make a U-turn on the field.”

A tow truck pulled the bus out of the field at about 10.20am.
