What did he say? Mississippi State fan hilariously explains how he got to College World Series
The College World Series has been impacted by storms, and it was no surprise there were weather delays for Tuesday’s slate of games.
So one Omaha television reporter went looking for fans to interview about the situation and came upon a colorful Mississippi State supporter.
In a package aired on KMTV, reporter Megan Stewart talked to Terry Powell, who was wearing a burgundy State visor, about traveling to Omaha for the annual NCAA tournament.

“The sacrifices that we personally made to be here are incredible,” Powell says. “My wife’s boyfriend sold his prosthetic leg on Craigslist to afford me the opportunity to be here. But, they get alone time and I get a chance to be in Omaha.”
And he was able to say it all with a straight face.
Stewart acknowledged on Twitter that Powell was full of jokes during their interview — at another point he mentions a “banana hammock” — and that she took a risk putting his humor into her report.
(The Bulldogs and their fans have embraced bananas as a rally fruit during their postseason run.)
“When you cover the same event every year, ya gotta mix it up,” Stewart wrote.
