Savannah Police detectives investigate shooting death of man on Elliott Avenue Thursday night

Savannah Police Department (SPD) detectives are investigating the ninth homicide of the year in the year. The shooting death occurred around 8:05 p.m., Thursday evening, according to a press release issued by SPD.

Officers responded to the 900 block of Elliott Avenue following audible gunshots heard by an off-duty officer. At the scene, officers located an adult male who had sustained serious injuries. The victim was transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment and later succumbed to his injuries.

No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information should call CrimeStoppers, 912-234-2020.
