Savannah Guthrie's interview with Sarah Sanders gets mixed reviews: 'Russian Bots are mad'

Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC’s Today, interviewed Sarah Huckabee Sanders about the Mueller report findings Monday morning — and it was either one of her best or one of her worst, depending on who you ask.

Guthrie spoke with President Donald Trump’s press secretary about the report that found no evidence he colluded with Russia. Guthrie began by challenging Sanders on Trump’s claim the report is “a total exoneration” (Sanders maintains that it is). She then asked Sanders if she thinks the president should apologize to the Special Counsel for his name-calling over the past two years. Sanders replied: “I think democrats and liberal media owe the president and owe the American people an apology.”

The pair’s interactions got heated at multiple points throughout the segment, such as when Guthrie likened Sanders to a child when trying to get her to answer a question.

After the interview aired, Guthrie was trending on Twitter — and a lot of it wasn’t pretty, with many calling her “pathetic,” “irrational,” a “liar” and a “feckless talking head,” to name a few.

Many brought up her interview with Covington Catholic High School student Nicholas Sandmann.

But “Bulldog Guthrie” had many supporters as well.

And many people were wondering if the hate tweets about Guthrie were actually real.
