Sauced Up, made-to-order pasta bar restaurant, to open new location in Altoona 'very soon'

A custom, made-to-order pasta spot is opening in Altoona.

Sauced Up, a pasta bar restaurant in Indianola, announced in social media posts that a new location will be opening in Altoona "very soon." The Altoona location of Sauced Up will be at 3418 Eighth St. S.W., near Target.

An opening date is to be announced.

Rick Valentine opened Sauced Up in Indianola in 2022, according to the Indianola Independent Advocate, after building a career as a caterer, meat smoker and sauce maker. He planned for a Sauced Up restaurant for years after successfully catering his niece's pasta bar graduation party.

What's on the menu at Sauced Up?

The menu at Sauced Up in Indianola features items like a create-your-own pasta bowl with custom toppings, brisket mac and cheese, chicken alfredo and buffalo chicken ranch mac and cheese.

There are items such as breadsticks, riced cauliflower keto bowls, bowtie pasta with greens, salads and ice cream.

Other planned new businesses in Altoona this year include the Casa Agave Mexican restaurant and the Hyper Energy Bar with coffee and energy drinks.
