7:20 p.m.– Colorado upstages Scott Frost’s debut at Nebraska. Buffaloes QB Steven Montez (32-50, 346 yards, 3 TDs) comes through with go-ahead TD pass with 1:06 on the clock.

Nebraska drove to the Colorado 21-yard-line as the seconds ticked off the clock, but couldn’t complete a pass into the endzone. True freshman QB Adrian Martinez was dynamic for the Huskers, but left the game due to injury on the second-to-last drive of the game.

7:10 p.m.– Colorado QB Steven Montez’s 40-yard dart to Laviska Shenault Jr. gives the Buffaloes a late lead in Lincoln.

Scott Frost’s Huskers will attempt to come back with backup QB Andrew Bunch.

7:00 p.m.– Nebraska’s opener with Scott Frost at the helm is coming down to the wire. The Huskers are clinging to a 1-point lead vs. Colorado with the clock running down in Lincoln.

True freshman Huskers QB Adrian Martinez, who has two TDs on the ground and one through the air, was forced out of the game with an apparent leg injury. Now the Buffaloes will have a chance to drive for the lead on ABC.

6:33 p.m.– North Carolina is in trouble against East Carolina. The Pirates have built a lead against Larry Fedora’s team after the UNC coach said this week that he didn’t remember the teams’ last meeting, a 2014 ECU victory.

ECU went just 3-9 last season, and lost 2018 opener to North Carolina A&T. UNC, meanwhile, is attempting to avoid an 0-2 start before facing No. 19 Central Florida next week.

6:07 p.m.– No. 3 Georgia is making a statement against SEC East rival South Carolina, ranked No. 24. Bulldogs WR Mecole Hardman took one to the house early in the second half to break the game open.

Georgia RB Elijah Holyfield also punched in a touchdown run, and Kirby Smart’s squad is piling on.

5:38 p.m.– Ole Miss is trailing in a back-and-forth shootout with … Southern Illinois? Salukis QB Sam Straub has 229 yards through the air and 3 TDs so far.

4:59 p.m.– Make it 21 unanswered points for Nebraska and true freshman QB Adrian Martinez. The Huskers offense has turned to the ground game, with Martinez piling up 98 yards and 2 TDs.

Junior RB Greg Bell has added 74 yards of his own and suddenly everything is going Nebraska’s way vs. Colorado in Lincoln.

4:08 p.m.– Colorado didn’t get the memo about Scott Frost’s long-awaited Nebraska homecoming. The Buffaloes have forced two turnovers and sprinted to an early 14-0 lead, but Nebraska is answering back.

True freshman Adrian Martinez shook off an early fumble and dashed in for a TD to bring Lincoln to life.

Frost’s debut as the head coach at his alma mater had to wait a week after the scheduled opener vs. Akron was canceled due to weather. The 1-0 Buffaloes are a decidedly more difficult first opponent. Colorado QB Steven Montez is 7-8 passing with 79 yards and a TD.

3:39 p.m.– Upset alert! Eastern Michigan takes down Purdue with a last-second field goal. The loss to the Eagles sends Purdue to 0-2 on the year.

Personal foul penalties cost the Boilermakers for the second straight week, this time wiping out a third-down sack late in the fourth quarter.

2:57 p.m.– No. 5 Wisconsin led New Mexico by only three at halftime, but the Badgers and Heisman candidate RB Jonathan Taylor are running rampant now. Taylor, who ran for 1,847 yards as a freshman last season, has piled up 253 yards and three touchdowns today.

2:00 p.m.– Chip Kelly’s UCLA Bruins jumped out to a 7-0 lead vs. No. 6 Oklahoma, but it’s been all Sooners since then. Lincoln Riley’s high-powered offense has posted 21 unanswered points, the latest on a 10-yard touchdown scamper by QB Kyler Murray.

Star WR Marquise “Hollywood” Brown seized the lead for Oklahoma with a 58-yard TD grab.

It’s not all good news for the Sooners, though. Running back Rodney Anderson has left the game with an apparent knee injury.

No. 6 Oklahoma 21, UCLA 7

1:20 p.m.– South Florida freshman Terrence Horne is apparently untouchable. His day against Georgia Tech so far? A 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. And a 97-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

He’s already set the school record for return yards in a game as the Bulls and Yellow Jackets play a barnburner.

USF 21, Georgia Tech 17

1:15 p.m.– You won’t see this every day. A punter got ejected for targeting.

12:51 p.m.– Kevin Sumlin’s Houston homecoming is not going well. The Cougars have stormed to three early touchdowns against his Arizona Wildcats. Houston QB D’Eriq King already has 144 yards and 2 TDs through the air.

Electric Arizona QB Khalil Tate, meanwhile, has been contained. Houston has picked him off once, and held him to 61 yards through the air.
