Weather postpones I-135 and K-96 ramp work in Wichita

UPDATE: Due to weather, the Kansas Department of Transportation has canceled two ramp closures that were supposed to happen on Saturday, May 4.

KDOT was going to temporarily close the southbound ramp from Interstate 135 to eastbound Kansas Highway 96 and the westbound K-96 ramp to northbound I-135 in Wichita.


WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Work on the Interstate 135 and Kansas Highway 96 junction in north Wichita is getting closer to completion.

Starting Saturday, the Kansas Department of Transportation will close the southbound ramp from I-135 to eastbound K-96 and the westbound K-96 ramp to northbound I-135. Crews will be removing a crane and concrete safety barriers.

There will also be lane restrictions on northbound I-135 for new road striping alignment. The closures are scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The removals are expected to be completed by the afternoon.
