When Sarah Silverman couldn't calm down the restless crowd with a tame Democratic National Convention speech, she went for the throat.

The Bernie Sanders supporters in the convention hall have been extremely vocal during the first day of the proceedings, booing even the opening prayer. Hacked emails showing that the DNC seemingly worked against the Sanders campaign, only exacerbated what would have already probably been a contentious campaign.

Silverman, a devoted Sanders supporter in the primary, spoke with long-time Clinton supporter Sen. Al Franken, to try to build some unity in the party. And for a while it seemed to work...

Until Silverman said how proud she was to vote for Clinton.

As the two stood at the podium while the cries grew louder, Silverman took the opportunity to go off script and tell the Sanders clan what she was thinking.

"Can I just say to the Bernie or bust people," she said, "you're being ridiculous."
