Sarah Paulson to star in new show from Grey's Anatomy boss

American Horror Story star Sarah Paulson has landed her next TV role in upcoming drama Untamed.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paulson is set to star in a series based on Glennon Doyle's best-selling memoir of the same name, which will be adapted by former Grey's Anatomy showrunner Krista Vernoff.
Untamed explores "the peace and joy we discover when we stop striving to meet the expectations of the world and start trusting the voice deep within us."

It's been reported that Warner Bros. TV and JJ Abrams' production company Bad Robot, which acquired the rights to the book in 2020, will soon shop the series out to potential buyers.
When Bad Robot acquired the rights, Doyle said: "Women are in a collective moment of reckoning. We are looking at existing models of marriage, parenthood, religion, business, sexuality, and politics — and deciding that it’s time to let the old burn and imagine truer, more beautiful lives for ourselves, and a more equitable world for all of us."
Vernoff's producing partner Jessie Nelson and husband Alexandre Schmitt will serve as executive producers alongside Andrew Stearn.

Elsewhere, Paulson has also been cast in upcoming biopic Ethel, which will follow the life of pioneering conductor Ethel Stark.
Bodies actress Shira Haas will star as Ethel, while Paulson has been cast as Madge Bowen – "a corseted socialite who desires more than tea parties and country clubs".
The film will follow Ethel as she attempts to break through the societal boundaries placed upon women in the 1940s, while helping other women just like her chase their dreams by organising an "informal troupe of all-female musicians".
"Through friendship, performance and entertainment, this talented group of women step from the shadows into the light and are heard by the world – and we celebrate their triumph," the official synopsis continues.
No release date for Untamed has been confirmed.
