Sara Gilbert says she stands by decision to cancel ‘Roseanne’
Today, “Roseanne” star and "The Talk" co-host Sara Gilbert addressed the sudden cancellation of her sitcom. Last week’s episodes of "The Talk" were pre-taped, which prevented a more timely on-camera response. "I would like to say this has been a very difficult week," Gilbert said. "A lot of people have been hurt by this. I will say I'm proud of the show we made." She went on to explain what she thought the show achieved in spite of Roseanne Barr's racist tweet. "The show has always been about diversity, love, and inclusion and it's sad to see it end this way," she said. "I'm sad for the people who lost their jobs in the process. However, I do stand behind the decision that ABC made."
