More glass, more class. It looks like Apple is upgrading its retail presence in the affluent Southern California coastal town of Santa Monica.
An unnamed applicant has submitted plans to build an 8084-square foot store with a curved glass roof that towers 34-feet above the store's shoppers.
At the front of the store roughly 75-feet of glass panels will project five feet from the store's stone-paneled walls.
Just a glance at architectural renderings submitted with the application make it clear that Apple is the company behind the project.
The store will replace an empty three-story building that last housed a Borders bookstore in 2008.
The design will go before Santa Monica's plannign commission August 17.
