Santa Fe County woman among 12 COVID-19 deaths

Dec. 13—A Santa Fe County woman in her 50s was among the state's 12 COVID-19 deaths announced Monday by the Department of Health.

The state now has seen 5,484 deaths in the 20 months since the crisis arrived. Of the others who died, Bernalillo, Doña Ana and San Juan counties each listed a pair of victims.

New Mexico had 610 people in its hospitals with COVID-19, down from more than 700 last week. In a three-day report released Monday, the state added 2,561 new coronavirus cases, an average of about 853 a day. The seven-day positivity rate also fell to 10.6 percent.

Of the new cases reported for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 138 were in Santa Fe County. Six other New Mexico counties were in triple figures: Bernalillo (878), Chaves (110), Doña Ana (268), Sandoval (191), San Juan (170) and Valencia (128).
