Santa Fe County seeks open space committee members

Mar. 13—Santa Fe County wants to fill three vacancies on its nine-member Open Lands, Trails and Parks Advisory Committee.

The committee recommends properties the county should acquire for open space, reviews funding for the open space program, establishes volunteer subcommittees to address issues related to open space and helps review and update the Open Space and Trails Plan. It generally meets quarterly, and meetings are held after 5 p.m.

County leaders encourage people with interest and expertise in conservation and natural and cultural resource stewardship to apply for a two-year term. The County Commission will confirm appointments based on applicants' qualifications in trails planning and construction, hydrology, restoration, agriculture, wildlife, water, management and stewardship, public administration or finance, a news release said.

District 1, District 5 and at-large seats on the committee are vacant. To apply, send a résumé and letter of interest by 5 p.m. March 22 to Adeline Murthy at amurthy@santafecountynm.gov or to the Santa Fe County Planning Division, Attn: Adeline Murthy, P.O. Box 276, Santa Fe, NM 87504-0276.
