Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt on Thursday morning walked out a free man from the Yerwada Jail in Pune where he was serving a 42-month sentence, as a part of his five-year sentence after being convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts case.

He will take a chartered flight to reach Mumbai. He was accompanied by filmmaker and director Raju Hirani.

The actor was released 103 days ahead of the official end of his prison term on the grounds of good conduct.

Dutt, who was convicted in the 1993 Mumbai blasts case for possessing illegal weapons and sentenced to five years in jail, had already served 18 months before the guilty verdict was pronounced.

After the Supreme Court upheld his conviction in 2013, the actor had to server 42 months of his remaining jail term.
