Sandia Labs creates a new process making 3D-printed materials stronger
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Scientists at Sandia National Laboratories developed a new 3D printing process creating even stronger materials in record time. According to Sandia Labs, most 3D printed materials aren’t durable and cannot be used for heavy-duty machinery.

With this new technology, they say the strengthened materials open up more opportunities for what 3D materials can be used for like rockets, engines, and even batteries. The new technology called SWOMP uses two wavelengths of light to change the way certain materials are 3D printed making them even more flexible and strong. Sandia Labs says they are still finding new ways to use the new material.
