Sandara Park is PH-Korea's Friendship Ambassador

The K-pop star is honoured to be appointed the ambassador and promises to do her best

19 Jun - K-pop star Sandara Park has always been active in promoting the Philippines to her fans and friends in South Korea, but she can do it officially now that she is appointed as the Korea-Philippines' Friendship Ambassador.

As reported on ABS-CBN News, the former 2NE1 member recently shared a photo of her accepting the recognition from Philippine Ambassador, Raul Hernandez at the Bayanihan sa Korea 2017 event held on the 119th Philippine Independence Day and 22nd Migrant Workers Day.

She wrote, "Thank you so much for choosing me as the Friendship Ambassador to the Philippines. This is an honor for me. I want to thank everyone who have loved and supported me throughout this journey. [Thank you so much! I love you!]"

Prior to her success in her home country, Park first experienced fame in the Philippines after coming in second for the ABS-CBN talent search, "Star Circle Quest". She later starred in several movies - two of them alongside the show's winner, Hero Angeles.

Although she later joined 2NE1 and became one of the biggest idols in Korea, Park has continued to promote the Philippines, and once jokingly called herself the "official Philippine tour guide" for her fellow Korean colleagues whenever they are visiting the country.
