During the meeting, Sanchez said that she was leaving due to taking on her new role as the elected county attorney, according to a press release sent by EPCC.

EPCC said she also encouraged interested individuals within District 4 to consider serving on the Board of Trustees.

“I really hope that individuals who have a good heart in representing the community and of course the community college, consider applying,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez had represented District 4 which covers parts of Central, West, South El Paso and the Lower Valley, according to EPCC.

“Ms. Sanchez has been a thoughtful and dedicated leader who has always prioritized the best interest of the students, our college and the community,” Board Chair Brian Haggerty said.
