San Rafael teen arrested in connection to double stabbing

(KRON) — A San Rafael teenager was arrested in connection to a double stabbing that unfolded near a 7-Eleven convenience store on Medway Road, police said. Violence flared around 11 p.m. Tuesday and triggered a flurry of 911 calls.

San Rafael Police Department officers found two stabbing victims who were rushed to a local hospital for emergency treatment.

Officers apprehended one suspect, 19-year-old Darwin Alexius Deleon, in connection with the attack.

On Wednesday SRPD wrote, “Investigators are actively working to determine if other individuals were involved in the attack. The motive behind the stabbing remains under investigation, with authorities not ruling out the possibility of gang-related activity.”

Police said both victims are expected to survive.
