San Marcos man faces 2 indecent exposure charges

SAN MARCOS, Texas (KXAN) — A man was arrested Wednesday in San Marcos in connection with two indecent exposure investigations, according to the San Marcos Police Department.

SMPD said 27-year-old Ricky Hardeman, of San Marcos, faced two charges of indecent exposure and was booked into the Hays County jail on a $10,000 bond.

Police said on Monday, officers responded to a call shortly after midnight to a restaurant located between Interstate 35 and Highway 123.

SMPD said restaurant staff reported a man entered the restaurant and exposed himself. Staff also said earlier that same evening, the subject entered the women’s restroom while a teenage female was using the bathroom.

According to police, the man was no longer at the scene when officers arrived, but a man matching the description was later found. That man was identified as Hardeman, according to SMPD.

Police also received a call regarding a separate indecent exposure incident where a man matching Hardeman’s description knocked on the door of a residence Feb. 25 at approximately 10:40 p.m. and exposed himself.

The Feb. 25 incident was captured on surveillance video, and SMPD said the footage confirmed the suspect was Hardeman.

“Our primary goal is always to ensure the safety and well-being of our residents,” SMPD Sergeant Michael Casillas said. “We take reports like the ones we received in these cases very seriously, and our officers are committed to thoroughly investigating each incident and presenting the strongest possible case to the Hays County District Attorney’s Office.”

SMPD said police would continue to investigate the incidents and additional charges could be filed.
