San Jose man arrested in connection to 6 armed business robberies

(KRON) — A San Jose man was arrested in March after he was linked to six armed robberies in San Jose, the San Jose Police Department said Thursday. The suspect was identified as 55-year-old Samih Stephan.

The first robbery happened at a business on the 800 block of Blossom Hill Road on Aug. 26, 2023. Police discovered that a man entered the store with a gun and demanded money from the employee. The employee did not give over any money, and the suspect left the store.

Police determined that Stephan was the suspect and connected him to five other robberies, for a total of six:

  • Aug. 26, 2023, on the 800 block of Blossom Hill Road (attempted robbery)

  • Dec. 7, 2023, on the 400 block of Blossom Hill Road

  • Dec. 16, 2023, on the 7100 block of Santa Teresa Boulevard

  • Dec. 26, 2023, on the 1200 block of North 1st Street (attempted robbery)

  • Jan. 2, 2024, on the 700 block of North King Road

  • Feb. 26, 2024, on the 600 block of North 4th Street

In these robberies, Stephan took more than $3,000 of cash, SJPD said.

SJPD obtained arrest and search warrants for Stephan and took him into custody on March 19 in San Jose. He was booked into jail for armed robbery.
