San Jose city contractor found dead at animal care facility

(KRON) — A city contractor was found dead at an animal care facility in San Jose, Animal Care and Services (ACS) said on Friday.

“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family of the city contractor who passed away,” ACS continued, “The City of San Jose is devastated by this news and is focusing on supporting staff who worked with their colleague.”

ACS is currently working with the San Jose Police Department, San Jose Fire Department, CAL/OSHA and other state authorities regarding the ongoing investigation.

“The pets in our care have been looked after all day by staff,” ACS said, claiming that no pets were involved or injured in the incident regarding the city contractor.

The animal care facility is set to re-open on Saturday.

No information on the city contractor’s identity or cause of death was announced as of this report.
