San Francisco police officers plead not guilty

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — A San Francisco police officer accused of taking money and drugs, and three other officers facing separate charges have pleaded not guilty.

Sgt. Ian Furminger entered his plea in federal court on Friday. He and officer Edmond Robles are accused of taking money, drugs, electronics and gift cards seized during investigations.

Robles also appeared in court but needed an attorney and did not enter a plea.

The three other officers who appeared in court on Friday are facing separate civil rights charges that prosecutors say involve illegally entering hotel rooms and harassing occupants.

They are officers Arshad Razzak, Richard Yick and Raul Elias.
