Each year, the Walk for Animals invites pet lovers to come together while raising funds for the animal shelter. SDHS says every dollar raised will go toward helping homeless pets find a home, rescue animals from cruelty and neglect, provide veterinary care, rehabilitate wildlife and much more.
In addition to the two-mile walk, the Walk for Animals — North County includes a pancake breakfast, activities for dogs, live music and vendor booths. (Check out photos from past walks below).
Interested participants can sign up individually or join as a team at sdwalkforanimals.org. If you’re unable to attend in person, you can still donate or fundraise online by spreading the word on social media and walking in your own neighborhood.
