Samsung may price Galaxy Note 8.0 slightly higher than iPad mini
Here’s how you know that Samsung’s (005930) brand has become very powerful — it can consider pricing one of its tablets even higher than a comparable Apple (AAPL) tablet. PhoneArena directs our attention to Bulgarian tablet retail website Tablet.bg, which claims that that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note 8.0 tablet will sell for roughly €359, or €10 more than the iPad mini’s €349 price tag. Since the iPad mini sells in the United States for $329, it’s probably reasonable to expect that the Galaxy Note 8.0 will sell for at least $300 as well, which means that Samsung would be eschewing the $200 tablet trend started by the Amazon (AMZN) Kindle Fire and the Google (GOOG) Nexus 7.
