Sampha Says "Timmy's Prayer" Was Co-Written by Kanye West

“I wrote that song with Kanye West.”

Back in May, Sampha returned with a beautiful lead single "Timmy's Prayer" from his forthcoming debut album Process—and now he's revealed an interesting piece of information about the song's creation.

“I wrote that song with Kanye West,” he told Faster Louder.

The two had previously collaborated on West's excellent The Life of Pablo late addition, "Saint Pablo," but the news of West's involvement on the slow-burning soulful track comes as a bit of a surprise.

Although he didn't go into detail on West's exact contributions, the British singer did elaborate on some of the meaning behind the song, revealing, "Sometimes you can be in a sort of loving relationship—that you don’t appreciate when you’re in it—but then when you’re without it you realize it was heaven, because you go out into the wider world and you can meet some real sharks out there, people who are out there for your blood.”

Process is set to release on February 3, 2016. Check out the tracklist here and revisit "Timmy's Prayer" below.
