The Duchess of Sussex’s half-sister has insisted she wasn’t turned away from Kensington Palace.

Samantha Markle – who also goes by the name Samantha Grant – was pictured next to security at the gates of the palace at the weekend amid media reports she was trying to visit Meghan.

And in another bizarre moment, the 53-year-old then bought royal merchandise from a nearby stall, including masks of Meghan and Harry.

But in a series of tweets, Samantha has said she did not try to request access.

She tweeted: “And it should be known that I was not denied entry to #Kensington, because I never tried to make entry! I did not even request it. I merely dropped off a letter. The guards were very sweet and any story to the contrary is a lie. Step off journalists @KensingtonRoyal.”

Samantha, who shares the same dad with Meghan (Thomas Markle Sr) has frequently spoken out against the Duchess and the royals in TV interviews and posted controversial tweets.

Last week she appeared to backtrack and apologised to her sister during an appearance on Jeremy Vine on 5.

She said: “I felt as though it could have all been nipped in the bud if everyone was included and we just all agreed to move forward with positive resolve.

“The hurt feelings wouldn’t have snowballed.

“Believe it or not, it doesn’t mean we love you any less.”

“I just think that families can be this way, when there’s confusion and when people are hurt so moving forward, I apologise and wish things could be different.”

When Jeremy grilled her about her behaviour and why she hasn’t reached out to Meghan in private, Samatha said she wanted to “protect” her father and that she was lashing out at the media instead.
