Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma announces 'Magnum, P.I.' star as gala speaker

Mar. 18—The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma has announced actor Tom Selleck as the keynote speaker at its annual Celebration of Hope Gala.

The Celebration of Hope Gala recognizes the Salvation Army's ongoing community outreach and also serves as a substantive fundraising opportunity. Individual tickets start at $250, and major-level sponsors will have the opportunity to attend a VIP reception including a meet-and-greet with the "Magnum, P.I." star.

"We are honored to welcome acclaimed actor and philanthropist Tom Selleck as our special guest speaker. Mr. Selleck's commitment to humanitarian causes resonates deeply with The Salvation Army's ethos of providing hope and assistance to those in need," said Mary Blankenship Pointer, Celebration of Hope Gala chair, in a press release.

The gala will be held at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum on May 17 at 6:30 p.m.

The Salvation Army Advisory Board and Women's Auxiliary are co-hosting the gala; Express Employment International co-founder Bob Funk Sr. will present the VIP reception.

The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma provides food services, emergency financial aid, emergency shelter, youth programs and senior programs across Canadian, Cleveland, Logan, McClain and Oklahoma counties.

According to the Salvation Army, funds raised from the gala will directly fuel those programs.
