Salma Hayek Uses a 'Natural Facelift' Massage to Change Her Jawline

You know you’re getting a super exclusive facial treatment if the person who gives it to you has to fly across the world to treat you. For 50-year-old stunner Salma Hayek, waiting for beauty is no big deal and par for the course as her favorite facial massage comes all the way from Japan and is only available four times a year. As she told The New York Times in a recent interview, this specialized four-hand facial is worth the wait.

“I have this Japanese woman who comes from Tokyo, Mikiko. She goes to London and Paris for appointments about four times a year. It’s not easy to get in. I swear by her. Her technique requires four hands, so there are two people working on you. She massages your face. It’s a little crazy while you’re doing it. You have to say ‘eee’ and ‘ahh,” explains Hayek. “Once you’re saying ‘ahh,’ one person is pulling your tongue, and another is pulling and rubbing your head. I’ve never done anything like it.”

The Mikikio she is referring to is Mikiko Hayano at London's Grace Belgravia club. Hayano combines massage and craniosacral work with Oriental and Western traditional therapies in a four-hand “Natural Facelift” treatment. This method involves activating the body’s nervous system, muscles and brain simultaneously. According to Grace Belgravia’s website, Hayano’s method can help tighten skin, sharpen the nose and add depth and tone to the facial profile.

Hayano’s “Natural Facelift” massage has also been touted for sculpting the face line dramatically, a claim Hayek backs up.“Once she asked me, ‘Do you like your jaw more square or more round?,’” said Hayek. “After she was done, you could see the difference! I always get the round. My face is square enough."
