Salina woman sentenced in Wichita Whole Foods shooting

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – A Salina woman will spend several years in jail for a shooting at the Whole Foods store in northeast Wichita.

A judge sentenced 34-year-old Danielle Robinson of Salina to 196 months, just over 16 years in prison. The shooting happened on Oct. 4, 2021.

That night, Wichita police responded to the store for a report of a woman armed with a gun. As officers arrived, the woman, identified as Robinson, ran back inside and pointed a gun at officers. Officers repeated commands for her to drop the gun, but she fired it. Both officers opened fire, injuring her. She was released the next day from the hospital.

Robinson was scheduled for a jury trial back in June but pleaded guilty on Jan. 18 to two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of aggravated assault and criminal possession of a firearm.
