The New Orleans Saints are 2-3 and have by far their toughest game of the 2016 season coming up: A road game against the Kansas City Chiefs. One may point to the home games against Seattle and Denver, but at least those take place at New Orleans. This is in K.C., where it’s extremely tough to win.

As we all know, the Saints are ridiculously reliant on offense. They’re averaging 31 points per game. Only the Atlanta Falcons (33.2,) are averaging more. The Saints are also allowing 33.6 points per game, the most in the NFL and it’s not even close. Kansas City is sixth in yardage defense and they’re only allowing 20.4 points a game.

The Chiefs offense is their main weakness, though. They’re averaging just 21.8 points a game and rank 26th in total yardage. Even though the Saints defense is a mess, you have to give them the benefit of the doubt. They shouldn’t give up more than 24 points.

So that means Brees and the offense are going to have to have an answer for the Chiefs defense. Unfortunately, the Chiefs have an answer for almost every critical part of the Saints offense.

Yeah, Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead are nice receivers. But Marcus Peters is an elite shutdown corner. Yeah, Coby Fleener is a dangerous option, but Eric Berry is one of the NFL’s best safeties.

Terron Armstead and Max Unger form a dangerous offensive line, but Derrick Johnson, Tamba Hali and Justin Houston form one of the NFL’s most dangerous pas-rushes. This is going to be an unstoppable force vs. an immovable object game.

It all comes down to how Brees and the offense can play against the Chiefs defense.
